Running Classes Optiver

on every Wednesday Running Holland offers running training sessions for employees of Optiver. The training sessions are offered at 2 different levels. So, both beginners as well as more advanced runners are welcome.

We will train in order to prepare for the “Dam tot damloop” and other different recreational races. 7 recreational races are selected to do together with Optiver runners. Click here for the Optiver running calendar .

Who are joining

would you like to join the Optiver Running Classes? You are welcome, beginners and advanced collegues are joining allready. We train every wednesday at 18.15. The start is from Optiver reception 2nd floor. The trainings take place in the Beatrixpark or along the Amstel river. Who are joining? running good support for other sports

running is the best sport in order to improve your endurance capacity and physical and mental fitness. A better mental fitness means more concentration, more creativity and being more relaxed. A better physical fitness helps you to improve on many other sports you may do. Coordination, stamina, power and flexibility make you a more complete sporter. Running lessons give you more support in the last part of the performance. When the opponents get tired, you can continue playing on the same levell. Running is a basic sport that you also use during other sports like soccer, tennis, basketbal, Hockey, squash, and many many other sports. So, run with us and experience your improvement.

Location and starting point

The training sessions will take place directly in the vicinity of the Atrium(zuid-as) and will start from the Atrium. There can be trained in the Beatrixpark, along the Amstelriver, in the vondelpark or in the “Amsterdamse bos”.

starting time

The training sessions start at 18.15 and will take approximately 75-90 minutes. After the training there will be the possibility to drink something at Optiver.

The training sessions will be offered every wednesday at 18.15.

Besides this, all runners of Optiver are welcome to join into the training sessions on Sunday morning. Joint training sessions are taking place then together with the runners of Running Holland. For more information about the joint running sessions on Sunday morning click here

 Tips

  • Are you in doubt whether you are able to participate in these training sessions or are there indications that running might not be good for you, please contact your doctor for advice. You may also decide to take a medical sport test.
  • Don’t eat a hot meal right before the training, take care however that you have enough energy in your body. We advise you to eat something small like a sandwich or 2 pieces of fruit about 1 hour before the training.
  • Make sure that you drink sufficiently during the day at hot days, you may take a bottle of water during the training.
  • Take care of good running shoes. Running clothes are comfortable, good running shoes are important. At runnersworld, Vijzelgracht 7 in Amsterdam, participants of the course will get a 10% discount on all there running materials.
  • Take a towel and dry clothes with you for after the training.

tips

  • twijfel je aan je fitheid of geschiktheid voor deze trainingen, laat dan een sporttest doen bij een sportarts. We raden ook aan om je huisarts om advies te vragen. Jessica Gal is sportarts en werkt in Amsterdam www.jessicagal.nl
  • heb je klachten of blessures, overleg dan vooraf met de trainer, of neem contact op met Palestra Fysiotherapie met wie wij samenwerken, onder het kopje 'blessures' op deze website staan vele tips om hardloopblessures te voorkomen.
  • eet geen warme maatlijd voor de training, zorg wel dat je voldoende energie in je lichaam heb. We raden aan om ongeveer een uur voor de training een iets kleins als een broodje of 2 stuks fruit te eten.
  • zorg ervoor dat je bij warm weer voldoende hebt gedronken gedurende de dag, je kan ook een flesje drinken meenemen naar de training.
  • zorg voor goed schoeisel. Hardloopkleding is comfortabel, goede hardloopschoenen zijn belangrijk. Bij de Runnersworld Vrijzelgracht 7 krijgen deelnemers van de cursus 10% korting bij aankoop van hun hardloopspullen.
  • neem een handdoekje en droge kleren mee voor na de training.
